Ahhh, Ladida Death Valley, the very first album made by the almighty gay weirdo, me. Hong long ago it kind of is, but mostly feels!
This album was made during a very confused and insecure period of my life. I remember not knowing how to react to things, to jokes, to conflict, to love, to anything yo. I would think to myself "how would my friend react to this? How would my other friend react to this?". That was pretty much going on for the first half of 2019, and then somehow with the release of the album, I was okay again. In hindsight, I'm pretty sure it was me not being comfortable with the gay part of myself that would spook with my sense of who I was.
It's so funny, cause I made two albums in 2019, this one and FRUPP. Ladida Death Valley is super summery, feel-goody, and jolly, though I was depressed, and FRUPP is a lot darker, though I was super happy making that one. YIN YANG YO!
This whole thang was mastered by Victor Söderlund. MA BOI.
Nothing is ever better than the other, it's all just documentation of life.
